These terms cover how Birthday Freebies (itsmybirthday.org), an independent directory of 150+ birthday rewards from restaurants, cafés, and retailers across Canada and the United States, is offered to you. Plain English wherever we can manage it.
Birthday Freebies is run by a small independent team based in Toronto. We are not owned by, employed by, or paid a placement fee by any of the retailers listed. The site is supported by display advertising and, on a small number of cards, non-exclusive affiliate links that do not influence which retailers are included or where they rank.
The site is a directory of birthday reward programs we have personally checked at least once per quarter, plus editorial articles on the blog. It is not a booking service, a loyalty program, or a coupon issuer. When you claim an offer, your relationship is entirely with the retailer; we are not a party to that transaction and cannot honor, extend, or credit any offer on their behalf.
Loyalty programs update their terms without notifying members. Minimum spends appear, birthday fields get removed, apps get discontinued. We re-verify each entry quarterly and spot-check high-value offers monthly, but you should always confirm the current terms with the retailer before planning a trip. Estimated values shown on cards are our own conservative estimates based on menu or retail pricing at the last check, not a promise from the retailer.
Trademarks, logos, and brand names referenced on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the retailer offering a given birthday reward. Their appearance does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership with itsmybirthday.org.
You can browse the site without an account. If you create one, you're responsible for your credentials and for the accuracy of the birthday you enter (it drives the personalized validity windows on the site). You can delete your account and all associated favorites from the Account Settings page at any time; deletion is permanent and processed within a few minutes.
Please don't scrape the site at volume, resell the freebie list as your own, or attempt to bypass rate limits on the map search. Automated requests to the map/search endpoints are limited to 30 per minute per IP and abuse may result in a block.
The site displays ads via Google AdSense and uses the Google Maps API for the location features. These providers may set their own cookies and collect data as described in their own policies. Beyond those two vendors and our backend host, we do not sell or share your personal information (see the Privacy Policy for the full picture).
The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss, disappointment, wasted trip, or damages arising from an offer that was changed, discontinued, or refused by the retailer, or from any inaccuracy in a listing. If a listing is wrong, please tell us; that is how we fix it.
We may update these terms when the site's practices change (for example, if we add a new type of feature). Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
